What reviewers say
AI generated
Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many consumers reported feeling trapped due to subscription practices, with charging persisting even after free trials ended or cancellations were attempted. Reviewers frequently mentioned misleading sign-up processes, where users were automatically enrolled in extra subscriptions or faced unseen terms and conditions.
However, some people mentioned that assistance was available, with specific instances where customers were offered better tailored plans and received helpful service. A few other people also felt that the software itself could be excellent for creative and business work, and some even enjoyed specific programs.

When you sign up for the Adobe Acrobat Pro free trial you automatically also get signed up for the AI Assistant, which is not disclosed. So, when you go to cancel the free trial, you are still signed up for the $4.99/Mo AI Assistant, and subsequently get charged. Scummy. Furthermore, files that get processed through Adobe seem to get messed up in some way to where they take significantly longer to move from drive to drive. Where all other .pdf documents on my drive move at 15mbps, the Adobe ones move at 20kbps. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY.
I reset my computer to factory settings and adobe reader was lost in the shuffle, have attempted to download the free basic adobe reader and keep getting the one that comes with 7 day free trial after which you have to subscribe to $9.99 a month inorder to just be able to save, open or read a pdf...since when did Adobe get so greedy, I was a graphic arts major and spent thousands on software and now can't even get the reader without paying for it...will be using google chrome from now on, and adobe never again.
I purchased Adobe Acrobat Professional under a perpetual licence in 2015 for AUD $635. The whole point of a perpetual licence is that you own the software and can continue using it.
After deactivating Acrobat so I could reactivate it on the same computer, Adobe reported that I had reached my activation limit. My Adobe account clearly showed no activated devices, yet the software still refused to activate.
I spent over four hours trying to resolve what should have been a straightforward issue. I went through countless support pages, community forums, activation troubleshooting, deactivation procedures and virtual assistants that simply sent me around in circles. Contacting a real person was far more difficult than it should have been.
When I finally reached an Adobe support advisor, I was told that Adobe no longer supports perpetual licences and that nothing could be done to reset the activation. I was promised a follow-up email confirming the outcome. That email never arrived. The only email I received was an automated "Case Closed" notification containing no explanation whatsoever.
The most disappointing part is that I wasn't asking for a free upgrade or a refund. I simply wanted to continue using software that I had legitimately purchased and registered with Adobe.
In my opinion, Adobe has abandoned customers who purchased perpetual licences after happily taking hundreds of dollars for those products. If Adobe no longer intends to support perpetual licence holders, it should make that abundantly clear instead of leaving loyal customers to waste hours trying to solve a problem that Adobe ultimately has no intention of resolving.
After this experience, I have lost confidence in Adobe as a company and will be using alternative PDF software in the future.
I just signed up for Adobe's unlimited Creative Cloud program and pay over $300 per month. I was promised support phone number for weekend---never got. Then I find Adobe cancelled my separate Adobe Premiere Elements subscription for 2015 and 2016. I called main published support number and Adobe says less than one minute to talk to a rep. Waiting over 8 minutes and got disconnected. I called again and got disconnected after 4 minutes. Then I try their Chat help feature and Chat will not load. I have had it with Adobe. Horrible, horrible service. I am cancelling and will get a refund.

Adobe Scams Customers and Shuns Their Wellbeing for a Quick Buck
Just read the other reviews. I had the same experience. Cancelled a free trial well within the trial period and was still charged. This company has absolutely no customer service and is pathetically trying to avoid pissed customers. Anyhow, my plan is to call the sales team, because you can bet your life Adobe has those people picking up the phone. Hopefully they'll be able to refund me and offer a solution.
I honestly hate that Adobe is standard.
You are overpriced, and all your software is so buggy.
I hope Affinity becomes the new normal. But for now I am stuck on a call to the WRONG department because it is impossible to find the right contact details when you need help – but if you go to the pricing/plan pages you can immediately speak to someone on chat. I have work to do and I am locked out of my apps because Creative Cloud won't let me switch to my account on my desktop app and keeps asking me to pay for a subscription I already pay for. The reviews say it all. It's not good enough. If you are going to charge the earth then you shouldn't be so full of flaws.
A completely deceitful organization. I signed up for the "trial" period of one of their subscriptions. I decided I did not need the subscription and cancelled. OK - sounds fine. Unknown to me, when I signed up for the one subscription, Adobe secretly signs you up for a second "hidden" subscription. A few months later, I was checking over my bank statement, and noticed an unauthorized charge from Adobe. After 2 calls to my bank and another to Adobe, I found out that Adobe had secretly signed me up for a second subscription and had only cancelled the main subscription, not the "hidden" subscription that they had secretly signed me up for. I am totally shocked that what was once an upstanding American enterprise has sunk so low as to stoop to "tricking" their customers for revenue. UGH! Filthy
A scam.
I wanted to cancel my subscription because I wasn't satisfied with the service, especially since I found other software to be much more effective. While trying to cancel online, the website offered to extend my free trial until October, so I accepted the offer. Despite that, I was still charged over $104.
I'm extremely disappointed. This experience feels misleading and has completely damaged my trust in the service.
Mercenary scumbags who will try to upsell and lock you in at every possible turn and seem more concerned about ID management than offering any value. Never do a single thing to impress me but snatch every opportunity to make me slag them off.
I’ve never experienced customer service this frustrating.
For over a year, Adobe has continued charging me for a subscription that I have tried to cancel countless times. I’ve called customer support more times than I can remember, and on multiple occasions I was told the subscription had been cancelled. Yet the charges continued.
Every time I contacted support, I had to explain the entire situation again, only to receive the same promise that it had been resolved. It wasn’t. The billing kept happening.
A company of Adobe’s size should be able to cancel a subscription when a customer requests it. Instead, I’ve spent over a year chasing a problem that should have been fixed after my first call.
I’m now seeking a full refund for every payment taken after my cancellation request. I hope Adobe finally takes this seriously because no customer should have to go through this.
Adobe doesn't work like the promise. They say it works without internet--it does not. Highlight function doesn't always work. They have the worst contact us and customer support. This has been going on for years. I have no other choices due to requirements at work. I dream of a replacement.
They often provide poor or very poor custoner service
They often provide poor or very poor support. Their IVR or automated phone answering system has not understood the word "yes" for some time so it makes their phone system frustrating to use.
Today, a man would not acknowledge there was a problem with Acrobat's app interface concerning a Search function when a message said, "No results found" but it did find some results so the message was false! I ended up spending approximately 20 minutes on the phone and the man thought the program was working as it was supposed to, I understood him to say. I eventually ended the conversation.
WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT EVER!!!
Seriously, what is the point of outsourcing the support department to India and teach the employees just some basic phrases such as "you will get the highest priority" or "your issue will be solved in 5-7 business days"...
I have purchased Adobe Cloud 1-year subscription and after a month I'm still not able to use it. There's no way to force Adobe to help me so if they don't want to, they simply won't. I have paid for a product that I cannot use. They promised to generate a new code for me and that was 5 weeks ago. Five weeks of telling me lies about how it would be solved soon. Worst experience ever.
Terrible support. Adobe updates its programs often. Tbh I see little benefit from their updates as they tend to create more problems than they are worth. The new Ai features are pretty useless so I keep to very much a manual work flow. My main issue is they have very poor if non existent customer support for professionals. I have subscribed since 2015 and I am now looking at Affinity Photo which is a one time purchase and so far works well.
Would probably prefer to be stabbed in a dark alley by a contaminated syringe than ever pay these criminals a single cent. If you start a 'free' trial with them check a thousand times that you know what the trial entails (and whether it potentially entails 300 other trials such as their useless ai slop robot), and check whether you have any other profiles with them, because they are so deceptive that they will create new stuff tied to your name that you had no idea could exist. Also no matter how hard you try they will never refund you--it's not 'in their policy', but stealing and lying is. Says a lot that after getting sued by the US government they didn't even give people money back, just shitty trials--probably to dupe the same people again.
Signed up for the free trial to test a feature they have advertised. It was to do with applying ai to video editing and changing backgrounds. Not only did that functionality did not exist as part of the package that was recommended for the free trial, but also when I cancelled the subscription somehow I needed to cancel something else to actually not get charged. So now I am locked into a 1 year contract with them, unless I pay extra to cancel early for something I am not using. that's £21.99 pm. Not happy at all, scummy service by such a large brand.
