The customer service for Aventon has been great throughout the process of getting my bike back working. I was sick that my bike was not even 8 months old and not working properly and the place I bought it was no longer a business. Nichalous kept trouble shooting how to make my ebike work again

Aventon's demeanor towards customers is best summed up by 'We will give you what we want you to have. and by the way, our stuff will be proprietary so you can't go anywhere else for parts.'
I, along with a lot of other folks just want to replace our Level 1 display with a B/W M5, inexpensive and simple to use. Instead, they offer a replacement display that is 3x as expensive and requires a cell phone app for the same functionality. So riders have juggle two display interfaces as they try to cycle safely.
Seems their willingness to stand behind their product during its useful life is not a priority. Can safely say that our future ebikes will not come from them until they change their practices.
There are too many other options that are just fine, more inexpensive, easier to get replacement parts and easier to maintain.

I have experienced new excitement joining the Aventon family. I have owned two different Lectric eBikes over the past few years. While visiting a bike shop; I spotted this new Aventon Abound SR eBike. I fell in love with it immediately. Went home and sold my Lectric eBike and purchased this new Aventon Abound SR eBike. It is fantastic and I just love the riding experience. Compared to the Lectric XP4 this Aventon Abound SR in my opinion is a much better eBike. Plus the Customer Service and Support is outstanding.

I recently purchased my Aventon bike from my local bike shop, Horizon Bikes in Westfield, MA, and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The salesperson was a wealth of knowledge and took the time to make sure I had everything I needed.
The shop took care of everything for pickup and even charged the battery for me, so when I picked up the bike, it was ready to go on my first ride.
For my first ride, I went 40 miles, and the bike performed amazingly! I did upgrade the seat for a more comfortable ride, and so far, I’m super pleased with the bike.
Great bike, great experience, and excellent service from Horizon Bikes. I’m definitely looking forward to many more rides!

The following is a description of how the bike performed after the motor was changed.
First, I updated the firmware as asked. The Aventon has a problem with its technology. If a bike has an auto-power down feature enabled, the bike should know when it’s updating firmware and to NOT power down; it does not.
Second, I also put the bike in Walk Mode in all three programs before riding. I made sure the bike was in default settings, which is where I do all my riding. I took off in ECO mode, and by the time I got to the end of the block, I knew I could not complete a ride with that level of support (which I believe is 50%). My Trek SuperCaliper is easier to ride. I then put the bike in TRAIL mode and rode 2 miles to my next transition point on my ride. I have been riding the last few rides in TRAIL mode for 40 miles. When I started riding the Aventon, I rode the first 20 miles in ECO and the last 20 in TRAIL. Then the bike got so bad I could not fight the bike in ECO. Today I could not fight the bike in ECO. At the 2-mile mark, the bike was harder than before the bike received its new motor. I got out my phone and had to bump the support from 60% to 70%. Now I am going to tell you that I am a 63-year-old cycling athlete. I ride over 5000 miles a year on a manual bike and can average 16 mph on the same course I ride the Aventon and get 21 mph.
After I increased the bike to 70%, I was able to finish the ride, but it was much harder than before the fix. The bike, from a stopping position, provides little help and still skips. On several starts, the skip was so bad that my cleats came out of the clips. For only giving me a 5 mph performance better than a manual bike, this bike is very inefficient. I start at 100% and end it with 13-16%; that’s terrible. I have included my Apple fitness screen shot from a previous ride where you can see that my average heart rate is 107 and a calorie burn of 1929 kcals. On today’s ride, my heart rate average was 119 with kCals of 1916 (very consistent except for the effort I had to increase because of the increased resistance with pedaling).
In addition, the bike App and its associated technology are terrible. You can see that Apple is consistent in ride distance, speed, and cals. The Aventon could not even get the ride duration right. It always says 122 cals, the distance is always wrong, so what good is this App?
I was waiting to ride bike 1000 miles before I gave it a review; well, that time has come, and Aventon will not be pleased with my review.
Sold me a replacement controller for my Level.2 bike but no instructions were included, not even one slip of paper. Just the part with multiple wires sticking out in a box.

Purchased a set of fenders for my new bike. The set came in with the box broken open and the rear fender was missing. Also was waiting on these before i rode my new bike so I wouldn't get dents and paint chips from rocks etc. So i emailed and asked if they could expedite the new order, they responded saying they dont expedite shipping. Not happy have to wait another week to ride my new bike....sucks

Delivery of my Current ADV was quick and was well packaged. I had a great first ride of 20 miles on single track and was impressed with the quality. I currently have the Aventon Abound SR which is a shorter, more compact version of the LR. It rides smooth with fast versatility and durability. Riding it through grass, gravel and concrete are all easy. The company and main store in Kapolei on the Island of Oahu did a great job as far as advertising and showing their showroom. The staff also installed all parts the customer wanted for an add on to the ebike.

They sent me a new lock in a timely manner .👍
Also the tech guy explained how to lower the maximum speed. 12 mph is the lowest but I asked anyway to make it 9 mph for my wife. No. Just 12 mph.
So I looked up the bike online and found out that the assists levels power and torque are cut proportionately. Exactly what we needed !👍
Works perfectly. Does 11.6 in turbo and 9 the next lower assist 😃. My wife's cruising speed 😂. So happy with the bike.
The lock set was reasonable and well made.I have done mechanical work for over 50 years so I slowly, carefully drilled out the old lock with a smaller then larger drill bit. Tough drilling. But finally got to the release mechanism. Still hard to get the battery out.
But easy now with the new lock👍.
Also I changed the complete switch with the battery connector. Because I noticed the old battery plug in had been hot ! Plus the new one had a extra ground. So better.
Quite a pain to pull the new wires through the frame to the bottom and reconnect. But glad I did because the bike works perfectly. Will keep a eye on the battery connectors for maintenance 👍
Remember that lowering the max speed also lowers the pas speeds and lowers the torque. So slower and the power delivery is slower ! Great for slower or older riders 😁.
